Meet Shannon

Shannon is the owner and head trainer at Pawsonal Training. She grew up in Metro-Detroit owning dogs of various breeds and sizes, and knew from an early age that dogs were her passion. She graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Companion Animal Biology and Behavior. From there, she worked in vet offices, doggy daycares, and finally became a certified dog trainer. After working for a few years for a larger corporation, she knew that she wanted to continue her love of canine obedience in a smaller, more personalized scale, and Pawsonal Training was born. Shannon is an AKC approved trainer and evaluator, a certified trainer and evaluator for Therapy Dogs United, and a long standing member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).

Meet Alesha

Alesha handles all of the lessons at Pawsonal Training, and is such an incredible asset to our team. She grew up on a farm in southwest Michigan where she was heavily involved in 4-H. As a volunteer project, she and her family raised PAWS With A Cause service dogs. She took on her own PAWS dogs throughout highschool while also competing with her personal dogs. She worked under multiple professional handlers in various dog sports, and now co-owns a Barn Hunt and scent work facility close by (she may be a familiar face to those who have tried barn hunt with us during their dog’s stay). Alesha owns a 2 year old Belgian Malinois named Verity who she has trained in scent work, barn hunt, obedience, rally, conformation, deer tracking, and personal protection. She’s a wealth of information and experience in so many different facets of dog training, and we’re so fortunate to have her with us working with dogs and families at our facility.
